Top Accelerated Readers Announced for August
In order for Badger Springs students to "Get on the Bus" and meet the State reading standard (500,000 words for 6th grade, 1,000,000 words for 7th and 8th), a 26-minute Reading To Achieve (RTA) period was added to the school day. Accelerated Reader is being implemented school-wide.

Each month we will be honoring the Top Readers for the month.

New Bell Schedule for the 2010-2011 School Year
Check out the new bell schedule. There is no homeroom this year. Make sure students are on time to school so they are not tardy to first period. In addition, passing periods are 4 minutes, and there is a 26 minute Reading to Achieve (RTA) 4 days a week. Students are required to carry a reading book each day.

Badger MESA students place in Seismic Challenge
Angel C and Dalia B won 2nd place and Jose G and Josue S won 3rd place in the MESA Seismic Challenge competition on Friday, June 5th.
Badger Students compete at USC Robotics Invitational
MESA Badger students competed at the USC Robotics Invitational on Saturday, May 22nd.
EL Reclassification Ceremony
The English Language Learners Reclassification Ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 25th. 65 students were honored for their dedication as English Learner students who have attained sufficient English proficiency to be reclassified as a fluent English speakers. The students and parents were treated to dinner and wonderful entertainment by Mr. Basantes, The Color Guard of Badger Springs, and The Polynesian Dancers of Badger Springs.
Badger Springs Middle School named MESA Middle School of the Year
Students from Badger Springs Participated in the MESA Year End Scholarship Competition on Saturday. Several students won money for placing in the competition and Badger Springs was named MESA Middle School of the Year.
School Improvement Grant!!!!
YAHOO!!!!!! Badger Springs was awarded $500,000 for a School Improvement Grant.
